Our Story
Over the past few years, we've fallen in love with packrafting but soon discovered that there were no local or Canadian options on the market. Canada is the land of fresh water and almost every Canadian has spent time in a kayak or canoe but packrafting is still a growing activity here and many people have never heard of a packraft. We hope to change this.
Our family has spent almost every summer backpacking in northern BC, and we used to pack in large, cumbersome rafts into the backcountry for our multi-day camping trips, which was not ideal and added extra kms to our trips to pack in the raft and then pack in our other gear, due to the weight.
When we discovered packrafts, we loved the flexibility that it provided and how lightweight the boats were. We instantly knew that we wanted to get more involved in this growing activity and start a Canadian company. Packrafts are opening up many new waterways in the backcountry that couldn't be explored previously and it's very exciting to be a part of this growing outdoor activity.

We want to acknowledge that the Stikine Region, in northwestern British Columbia, is the traditional territory of several First Nations - Taku River Tlingit, Kaska Dene, Tahltan, Gitxsan and Takla Lake - which all have communities in the region. This is a breathtaking area where our family has visited and explored over the years.
The Stikine River /stɪˈkiːn/ (Tlingit: Shtaxʼhéen) is a river, historically also called the Stickeen River. The Tlingit meaning for the word Stikine is "great river". We are grateful to live, work and play on the traditional and unceded Indigenous land of the Coast Salish peoples, which includes the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and the Sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
